Potassium alum and aluminium chlorohydrate have similar names, but they are chemically different substances. Potassium alum is a naturally occurring mineral salt that has been used in personal care for centuries.
Making the switch
- Apply on clean, dry skinRight after a shower is ideal. With the crystal, moisten only the tip.

Is this the official Alva store?
Yes. MKPBR operates Alva’s official international store with the brand’s written authorisation. Every unit is supplied by Alva itself — never bought from resellers or open-market stock.
Is potassium alum the same as aluminium?
No. Despite the similar names, they are chemically different. Potassium alum is a mineral salt with astringent properties; aluminium chlorohydrate is a different compound, used in antiperspirants to block sweat. Alva deodorants contain no aluminium chlorohydrate.
How long does the crystal last?
According to Alva, with daily use the 120 g crystal lasts up to 2 years and the 60 g one up to 1 year. Moisten only the tip, pat it dry after use and keep it in a dry place.
